My primary mission as an academic librarian is to drive excellence in life-long learning and empower people with information. I want to efficiently serve children, young adults and adults in our communities and educational centers, specifically Afro-American and Latino communities.
My goal as a librarian will be to try to make the library a safe and welcoming space for everyone in the community, regardless of, gender, race, socioeconomic status, cultural identity, political affiliation, or physical ability. This means respecting the patrons’ freedom of opinions, even when their opinions differ from my own and eliminating barriers that make it hard to access the materials, services, and opportunities they want and need.
